  • Stop using the device

    Every further write access can permanently overwrite lost data.

  • Don't open it yourself

    Dust and fingerprints can permanently damage the sensitive surfaces.

  • Don't run recovery software

    Don't install or run any software on the affected storage device.

  • Don't keep switching it on

    If the hard drive clicks or grinds, every restart can make the damage worse.
